Regular Season Round 31: Quimper - Denain 89-84

There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Quimper UJAP (9-22) won against at home 15th ranked Denain Voltaire (10-21) 89-84 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 22-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Quimper UJAP made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for point guard Vincent Mouillard (187-87) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Liberian-American Pele Paelay (193-84, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Two Points) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Paelay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Nate Rohnert (197-87, college: Denver) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds and Lamine Kante (200-87) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Denain Voltaire. Four Quimper UJAP and five Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP maintains seventeenth place with 9-22 record. Denain Voltaire lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Quimper UJAP will face higher ranked Bordeaux (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
