An interesting game for Tijuana Zonkeys (19-5) which played road game in Nogales against 4th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (12-12). Second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys managed to get a 6-point victory 102-96. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Fuerza Guinda Nogales helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa, agency: Edge Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward Darnell Hugee (201-85, college: Prairie View A&M) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) replied with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and international forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-5 record behind leader Hermosillo. Fuerza Guinda Nogales lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Guasave. Tijuana Zonkeys are looking forward to face Ostioneros de Guaymas (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play against Garra Canera de Navolato and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
