Regular Season Round 55: Osaka Evessa - Kyoto Hannar. 61-63

The most exciting game of round 55 in the BJ League took place in Osaka. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Osaka Evessa (33-16) to fourth ranked Kyoto Hannar. (32-17) 63-61 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Osaka Evessa won second period 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Kyoto Hannar. won last quarter 20-19. American guard Jermaine Boyette (188-78, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) fired 19 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) chipped in 4 points and 17 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Kyoto Hannar. maintains fourth place with 32-17 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the second position with 16 games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. Kyoto Hannar. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osaka Evessa will play again at home against Kyoto Hannar. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
