Regular Season Round 56: Shinshu BW - Fukuoka Rizing 77-79

Seventh-ranked Shinshu BW (18-32) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (32-18) in Nagano on Sunday. The visitors from Fukuoka managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected easier game. Shinshu BW was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 26-16 charge of Fukuoka Rizing, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Top Notch Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Tyler Hughes (213-84, college: Kansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 32-18 record. Shinshu BW lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 32 games lost. They share the position with Chiba Jets. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face higher ranked Kyoto Hannar. (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix (#1) in Mikawa and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
