The most exciting game of round 28 in the Lega2 took place in Scafati. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Tuscany Pistoia (17-10) to fourth ranked Givova Scafati (17-9) 88-87 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Tuscany Pistoia was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 23-17 charge of Givova Scafati, which allowed them to win the game. Givova Scafati outrebounded Tuscany Pistoia 46-22 including a 17-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Tuscany Pistoia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Nikola Radulovic (207-73) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Givova Scafati players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) responded with 28 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Bobby Jones (201-84, college: Washington) scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Givova Scafati moved-up to second place, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Tuscany Pistoia at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Givova Scafati is looking forward to face Centrale Latte (#6) in Brescia in the next round. Tuscany Pistoia will play at home against MarcoPoloShop.it in Forli and is hoping to win this game.
