Regular Season Round 27: Maccabi Rishon - Elizur Ashkelon 62-61

Eighth-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (10-15) was very close to win a game against third ranked Maccabi Rishon (15-10) in Rishon Le-Zion. Maccabi Rishon managed to secure only one-point victory 62-61. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Ironi Ashkelon took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi Rishon had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Ironi Ashkelon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-62. Ironi Ashkelon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Derwin Kitchen (193-86, college: Florida St., agency: VVG Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Marco Killingsworth (202-82, college: Indiana, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Raviv Limonad (192-84) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Maccabi Rishon maintains third place with 15-10 record having eight points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Ironi Ashkelon lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost.
