Regular Season Round 28: Ostuni - Nuovo Napoli 75-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Assi Ostuni's (11-15) home victory over 12th ranked S.Antimo (9-17) 75-69 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-13. But S.Antimo won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Assi Ostuni dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to S.Antimo's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American center Dane Diliegro (204-88, college: New Hampshire) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international power forward Alessandro Cittadini (207-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American point guard Troy Bell (186-80, college: Boston Coll.) scored 18 points. Four Assi Ostuni and five S.Antimo players scored in double figures. Assi Ostuni moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Prima Veroli. S.Antimo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Assi Ostuni will face higher ranked Fileni BPA (#7) in Jesi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. S.Antimo will play at home against Morpho Basket (#8) in Piacenza.
