Regular Season Round 30: Lagun Aro GBC - FIATC Joventut 90-85

No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where seventh ranked Lagun Aro GBC (17-13) defeated 12th ranked FIATC Joventut (13-17) 90-85. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as FIATC Joventut took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lagun Aro GBC had a 31-23 second period charge getting the lead and FIATC Joventut was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-90. American forward Andy Panko (204-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) notched 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Javier Salgado (180-80) supported him with 17 points and 6 assists. Four Lagun Aro GBC players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 4 assists by American point guard Pooh Jeter (179-83, college: Portland) did not help to save the game for FIATC Joventut. American-Nigerian forward Derrick Obasohan (199-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lagun Aro GBC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cajasol and Gescrap BB. FIATC Joventut at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Lagun Aro GBC's next round opponent will be Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#14) in Madrid and are hoping to win another game. FIATC Joventut will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
