Everything went according to plan when second ranked Bennet Cantu (19-10) won against at home 8th ranked Cimberio Varese (14-14) 76-66 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-66. Bennet Cantu outrebounded Cimberio Varese 36-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. American-Swiss power forward Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Diego Fajardo (208-76, agency: Players Group) with 14 points and 4 assists and Estonian forward Kristjan Kangur (201-82) scored 10 points. Five Bennet Cantu and four Cimberio Varese players scored in double figures. Cimberio Varese's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bennet Cantu maintains second position with 19-10 record having just one points less than leader Montepaschi. Loser Cimberio Varese keeps the eighth place with 14 games lost.
