The game in Sevilla was also quite interesting. 4th placed Valencia Basket (18-13) played at the court of sixth ranked Cajasol (18-13). Cajasol managed to secure a 7-point victory 65-58 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. Valencia Basket trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 22-9 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 58-65 at the end of the game. Cajasol forced 19 Valencia Basket turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American center Paul Davis (211-84, college: Michigan St.) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian forward Luka Bogdanovic (210-85, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Cajasol's coach Joan Plaza used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Australian forward Brad Newley (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 17 points and American forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: Beo Basket) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Valencia Basket in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Cajasol. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Valencia and Gescrap BB. Cajasol will meet CAI Zaragoza (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Valencia Basket will play against Gran Canaria 2014 (#13) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
