An interesting game for Regal FC Barcelona (26-5) which hosted in Barcelona 3rd placed Caja Laboral (21-10). First ranked Regal FC Barcelona managed to get a 8-point victory 97-89. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But Caja Laboral won second period 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Regal FC Barcelona made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Slovenian power forward Erazem Lorbek (209-84, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Regal FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. Regal FC Barcelona's coach Xavier Pascual allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Polish-Swedish center Maciej Lampe (210-85) responded with 31 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and French guard Thomas Heurtel (188-89) scored 8 points and 7 assists. Regal FC Barcelona have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 26-5 record. Caja Laboral at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will play against Meridiano Alicante (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Caja Laboral will play against FIATC Joventut (#11) in Badalona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
