Tenth-ranked Assignia Manresa (14-17) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Real Madrid (24-7) on Thursday. The visitors from Madrid managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-20. But Assignia Manresa won second period 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Real Madrid won last quarter 27-25. 24 personal fouls committed by Assignia Manresa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. They maintain second place with 24-7 record having just two points less than leader FCB Regal. Assignia Manresa at the other side keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with FIATC Joventut and Unicaja. Real Madrid are looking forward to face UCAM Murcia (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
