Regular Season Round 25: Navolato - Nogales 93-95

Ninth-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (8-17) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (13-12) on Friday. The visitors from Nogales managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Garra Canera de Navolato won fourth quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fuerza Guinda Nogales shot 62.7 percent from the field and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and international forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Charles Moore (201-86, college: S.Arkansas) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Matthew Gibson (196-84) scored 24 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains fourth place with 13-12 record. Loser Garra Canera de Navolato keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next round. Garra Canera de Navolato will play again at home against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#4).
