Regular Season Round 33: Clermont - Brest 81-84

Fifteenth-ranked Stade Clermont (8-25) gave a tough game to ninth ranked Etendard de Brest (18-15). The visitors from Brest managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. Stade Clermont was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Forward Julien Doreau (200-83) nailed 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Spanish center Rafael Lopez (204-86) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Etendard de Brest players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Jackson (202-82, college: Marquette) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Mali swingman Mahmoud Diakite (197-86, college: Wyoming) added 20 points respectively for Stade Clermont in the defeat. Etendard de Brest moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sorgues. Stade Clermont lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 25 games lost. Etendard de Brest will play against league's leader Saint-Quentin at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stade Clermont will play against Souffelweyersheim (#3) in Souffel. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
