CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (22-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (12-14) 116-101. It looked good early as Frayles de Guasave took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rayos de Hermosillo had a 27-24 second period charge getting the lead and Frayles de Guasave was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 101-116. Rayos de Hermosillo shot 64.2 percent from the field and made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 34-21 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rayos de Hermosillo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Frayles de Guasave's players. American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) supported him with 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field).
