Semi-Finals Game 1: Benfica - Lusitania 76-78

Lusitania continued to impress fans and experts in Portugal. They extended their impressive winning run in playoffs beating Benfica in the semifinal series opener. Benfica was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 21-12 charge of Lusitania, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Ricky Franklin (185-87, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brian Mills (203-88, college: Mercer) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Seth Doliboa (203-80, college: Wright St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Elvis Evora (205-78) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Benfica. Four Lusitania and five Benfica players scored in double figures. Benfica's coach Carlos Lisboa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
