Very expected game when 13th ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (12-20) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Valencia Basket (19-13) 77-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Valencia Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Valencia Basket forced 21 Gran Canaria 2014 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Victor Claver (207-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and Brazilian center Vitor Faverani (211-88) who added 14 points during the contest. Colombian power forward Juan Palacios (204-85) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and American-Azerbaijani forward Spencer Nelson (203-80, college: Utah St.) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Gran Canaria 2014's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gescrap BB. Loser Gran Canaria 2014 keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Valencia Basket will face Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gran Canaria 2014 will play at home against CAI Zaragoza.
