ACB top team - Regal FC Barcelona (27-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Meridiano Alicante (17-14) 83-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Meridiano Alicante. The game without a history. Regal FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Regal FC Barcelona outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 31-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Chuck Eidson (202-80, college: S.Carolina, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Pete Mickeal (199-78, college: Cincinnati) who added 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Regal FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. Brazilian point guard Rafael Freire (188-92) responded with 8 points and guard Pedro Llompart (190-82) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Regal FC Barcelona have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 27-5 record. Loser Meridiano Alicante keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will face league's second-placed Real Madrid at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
