Important game to mention about took place in Brescia. Sixth ranked Centrale Latte (15-12) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Givova Scafati (17-10) 76-74 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Givova Scafati won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Centrale Latte forced 19 Givova Scafati turnovers. Naturalized Albanian guard Franko Bushati (188-85, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Naturalized Argentinian forward Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward James Thomas (203-80, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 19 points in the effort for Givova Scafati. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Centrale Latte maintains sixth place with 15-12 record. Givova Scafati at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Enel Brindisi. Centrale Latte will play against Assi Ostuni (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Givova Scafati will play against Enel Brindisi (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
