A very interesting game took place in Jesi. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Fileni BPA (13-14) to eleventh ranked Assi Ostuni (12-15) 88-86 on Sunday evening. The guests were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 28-24 run, which allowed them to win the game. Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) nailed 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) accounted for 17 points. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) came up with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and American forward Jeff Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) added 23 points respectively for Fileni BPA in the defeat. Four Fileni BPA players scored in double figures. Assi Ostuni moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tezenis Verona and Prima Veroli. Fileni BPA lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Assi Ostuni's next round opponent will be higher ranked Centrale Latte (#6) in Brescia and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
