Regular Season Round 58: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 92-79

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osaka. Second ranked Osaka Evessa faced 4th ranked Shiga L-Stars. Host Osaka Evessa (35-17) defeated guests from Shiga (33-19) 92-79. It looked good early as Shiga L-Stars took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Osaka Evessa had a 25-18 second period charge getting the lead and Shiga L-Stars were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-92. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) replied with 19 points and guard Yu Okada (184-83) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka Evessa maintains second position with 35-17 record having just two points less than leader Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka Rizing.
