Sixteenth-ranked UCAM Murcia (11-21) gave a tough game to second ranked Real Madrid (25-7) on Sunday. Real Madrid managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But UCAM Murcia won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UCAM Murcia 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by UCAM Murcia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and international forward Carlos Suarez (202-86, agency: Court Side) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four UCAM Murcia players scored in double figures. Real Madrid have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 25-7 record having just two points less than leader FCB Regal. UCAM Murcia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Blusens M.. Real Madrid are looking forward to face league's leader Regal FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
