CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (25-4) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (10-19) 96-66. The game without a history. Rayos de Hermosillo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Caballeros de Culiacan's players. The best player for the winners was forward Jorge Camacho (200-89, college: E.Kentucky) who scored 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Naturalized American point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. American forward Rob Robinson (203-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: SDJ Sports) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Rodrigo Zamora (206-86, college: Montana St.) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
