Very predictable result when second ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (23-6) defeated at home 9th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (9-20) 101-89 on Friday. The game without a history. Ostioneros de Guaymas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Ostioneros de Guaymas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) who scored 26 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach LaSelle Taylor used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: Dream Team Management) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and Dominican-American guard Damien McSwine (193-78, college: Loyola, IL) added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ostioneros de Guaymas. They maintain second place with 23-6 record having just two points less than leader Hermosillo.
