Regular Season Round 29: Cananea - Tepic 109-88

Very expected game when 10th ranked Coras de Tepic (2-27) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Mineros de Cananea (15-14) 109-88 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Mineros de Cananea. Coras de Tepic managed to win second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was guard Cheyenne Moore (198-84, college: Georgetown, KY) who scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four Mineros de Cananea players scored in double figures. Mineros de Cananea's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Deangelo Riley (205, college: Azusa Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks and forward Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Mineros de Cananea. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 15-14 record, which they share with Guasave. Coras de Tepic lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 27 lost games. Mineros de Cananea will again meet at home bottom-ranked Coras de Tepic (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Coras de Tepic will have a break next round.
