Regular Season Round 2: Guangzhou L. - Changan Group 83-73

There was a change at the NBL leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 2 took place in between two undefeated teams where Guangzhou L. beat Changan Group (1-1) 83-73 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Guangzhou L.. Changan Group managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guangzhou L. forced 22 Changan Group turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Changan Group helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Senegalese center Hamady N'Diaye (213-87, college: Rutgers) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward DaWei Chen (203-85) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Guangzhou L. players scored in double figures. American forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jian Sun (190-88) scored 18 points. Changan Group's coach MingZhu Pu rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Guangzhou L. (2-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Hebei. Changan Group at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Guangzhou L.. Changan Group will play next round against Guangzhou FM trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Guangzhou L. will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Sichuan at home.
