Tenth-ranked Coras de Tepic (2-29) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (15-16). Fuerza Guinda Nogales managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. It looked good early as Coras de Tepic took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fuerza Guinda Nogales took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) fired 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach John Saintignon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and Kavin Young added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Guasave. Coras de Tepic lost their sixth game in a row. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' next round opponent will be again bottom-ranked Coras de Tepic (#10) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game.
