Regular Season Round 35: Los Mochis - Tepic 105-93

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Coras de Tepic (2-33) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (17-18) 105-93 on Tuesday. Pioneros Los Mochis looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Coras de Tepic's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Carlos M. Toussaint (190-91) chipped in 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach Jorge Toussaint used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American forward Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Kavin Young added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pioneros Los Mochis. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guasave and Nogales. Coras de Tepic lost their ninth game in a row. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Pioneros Los Mochis will again meet at home bottom-ranked Coras de Tepic (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Coras de Tepic will have a break next round.
