Regular Season Round 37: Guasave - Los Mochis 90-89

The most exciting game of round 37 in the CIBACOPA took place in Guasave. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (18-19) to fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (19-18) 90-89 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pioneros Los Mochis. Pioneros Los Mochis were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Frayles de Guasave, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Libyan center Hiram Fuller (206-81, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Panamanian forward Gabriel Giron (192-88) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Seth Scott (208-81, college: Portland St.) added 24 points in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to fourth place. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Cananea. Frayles de Guasave are again looking forward to face Pioneros Los Mochis (#6) at home in the next round. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round.
