CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (33-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (17-20) 89-82. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-26. But Fuerza Guinda Nogales won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rayos de Hermosillo had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rayos de Hermosillo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) fired 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jorge Mercado (200-80) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Rayos de Hermosillo and five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. They maintain first place with 33-4 record. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side keep the seventh position with 20 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1).
