Regular Season Round 6: Henan Jiyuan - Sichuan 83-95

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Sichuan and 9th ranked Henan Jiyuan had identical 1-4 record. But Henan Jiyuan was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from 95-83. Sichuan made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Sichuan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Henan Jiyuan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center XiaoDong Chen (207-86) notched 25 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and guard ChengLong Duan (192-88) supported him with 20 points. Four Sichuan players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds by Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) did not help to save the game for Henan Jiyuan. ZhanYu Wang (196-86) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Henan Jiyuan's coach Jianguo Wen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sichuan (2-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Heilongjiang. Henan Jiyuan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Nanjin Army. Sichuan will play against bottom-ranked Nanjin Army (#10) in the next round. Henan Jiyuan will play against Hong Kong to get more than just one victory in their record.
