Regular Season Round 7: Guangzhou L. - Heilongjiang 105-84

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Guangzhou L. as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Hebei) loss. Guangzhou L. smashed 8th ranked Heilongjiang at home 105-84. The game without a history. Guangzhou L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Heilongjiang's players. Guangzhou L. brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jing Wang (197-78) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward DaWei Chen (203-85) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Guangzhou L. players scored in double figures. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) answered with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and forward Xu Liu (201-85) added 13 points in the effort for Heilongjiang. Heilongjiang's coach Zhiwei Liu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Heilongjiang at the other side keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Heilongjiang will play next round against Guangzhou FM trying to get back on the winning streak. Guangzhou L. will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Hong Kong on the road.
