Regular Season Round 7: Sichuan - Nanjin Army 99-86

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nanjin Army (1-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Sichuan (3-4) 99-86 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Sichuan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Nanjin Army's 46. Sichuan forced 25 Nanjin Army turnovers and outrebounded them 41-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Jarrid Famous (210-88, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Center XiaoDong Chen (207-86) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side center ShouWei Wang (208-86) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward ChengLin Fan (202-91) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sichuan maintains seventh place with 3-4 record. Nanjin Army lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Henan Jiyuan. Sichuan will meet at home higher ranked Jiangsu (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nanjin Army will play against Henan Jiyuan (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
