Regular Season Round 7: Changan Group - Jiangsu 89-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Jiangsu (5-2) against fourth ranked Changan Group (5-2) on Tuesday night. Visiting Jiangsu was defeated by Changan Group in a tough game on the road 81-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jiangsu. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Jiangsu was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 31-21 charge of Changan Group, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Jiangsu turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Yan Gao (190-93) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Changan Group's coach MingZhu Pu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side U.S. Virgin Islands-Antiguan guard Julius Hodge (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Xin Feng (187-92) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Changan Group have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Jiangsu. Changan Group will meet Hebei (#4) in the next round. Jiangsu will play against Sichuan and hope to secure a win.
