Regular Season Round 8: Nanjin Army - Henan Jiyuan 101-84

Bottom-ranked Nanjin Army managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they won against ninth-ranked Henan Jiyuan 101-84. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference suggests that Nanjin Army is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Nanjin Army led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Nanjin Army forced 24 Henan Jiyuan turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Henan Jiyuan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward ChengLin Fan (202-91) who scored 30 points. Forward Shengyue Sun (198-89) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Five Nanjin Army players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) produced a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and swingman Peng Chao (193-92) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nanjin Army (2-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Heilongjiang. Henan Jiyuan lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Nanjin Army's next round opponent will be league's leader Jiangsu and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Henan Jiyuan will play against Guangzhou L. (#3).
