Regular Season Round 9: Heilongjiang - Changan Group 101-100

There was an upset when second-best Changan Group (6-3) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Heilongjiang (3-6) 101-100 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Changan Group won fourth quarter 32-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Heilongjiang made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Heilongjiang outrebounded Changan Group 38-27 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Changan Group was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and point guard Ming Jin (185-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Yan Gao (190-93) with 23 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Changan Group players scored in double figures. Changan Group's coach MingZhu Pu tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Heilongjiang moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sichuan. Changan Group at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Heilongjiang will face Sichuan (#7) in the next round. Changan Group will play against Hong Kong (#6).
