Top ranked Jiangsu (7-3) recorded its third loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Hebei (7-3) 106-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jiangsu. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Jiangsu trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 19-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-106 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Jiangsu 52-39 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hebei made 8 blocks. 29 personal fouls committed by Jiangsu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M, agency: N.E.T.) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Center ChunLei Sun (205-85) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Antiguan guard Julius Hodge (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) produced a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and point guard Xin Feng (187-92) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Hebei and four Jiangsu players scored in double figures. Jiangsu's coach ZhiLong Zheng rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hebei moved-up to second place, which they share with Changan Group and Jiangsu. Hebei is looking forward to face Nanjin Army (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jiangsu will play against Heilongjiang (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
