Regular Season Round 10: Hong Kong - Changan Group 62-84

The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Changan Group (7-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Hong Kong (4-6). Changan Group smashed Hong Kong 84-62. It looked good early as Hong Kong took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Changan Group had a 26-9 second period charge getting the lead and Hong Kong was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-84. Changan Group dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hong Kong's 26. Changan Group forced 27 Hong Kong turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Hong Kong helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and center Cheng Jia (207-91) supported him with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds by American center DeVon Hardin (211-86) did not help to save the game for Hong Kong. Forward XiaoDong Wei (196-92) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Changan Group moved-up to second place, which they share with Hebei and Jiangsu. Hong Kong lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Changan Group's next round opponent will be league's leader Guangzhou L. and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hong Kong will play against Sichuan (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
