Regular Season Round 14: Henan Jiyuan - Heilongjiang 95-98

A very close game took place in between Heilongjiang and Henan Jiyuan. Seventh ranked Heilongjiang (6-8) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Henan Jiyuan (2-12). Heilongjiang managed to escape with a 3-point win 98-95 on Saturday evening. Henan Jiyuan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 25 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Gang Yu (208-92) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Heilongjiang's coach Zhiwei Liu used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds and forward Chao Zhang (195-86) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Heilongjiang moved-up to sixth place. Loser Henan Jiyuan stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Heilongjiang will meet at home Hong Kong (#7) in the next round. Henan Jiyuan will play against Sichuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
