Regular Season Round 15: Sichuan - Henan Jiyuan 117-99

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Henan Jiyuan's (2-13) road loss to ninth ranked Sichuan (5-10) 99-117 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sichuan. Henan Jiyuan was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 40-of-53 free shots (75.5 percent) during the game, while Henan Jiyuan only scored twenty points from the stripe. Sichuan forced 29 Henan Jiyuan turnovers. Henan Jiyuan was plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard YingLiang Wang (183-91) who scored 18 points and 4 steals. Center XiaoDong Chen (207-86) chipped in 16 points. Five Sichuan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) who recorded a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and point guard Shuai Li (186-92) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sichuan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nanjin Army. Loser Henan Jiyuan stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Sichuan will face higher ranked Jiangsu (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Henan Jiyuan will play against Hong Kong (#7).
