Regular Season Round 4: Corr.Victoria - Guerreros 107-83
Date: September 13, 2012
Everything could happen in Ciudad Victoria at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Correcaminos and 10th ranked Guerreros had identical 1-2 record. This time Correcaminos used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from 107-83 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Guerreros was better in fourth quarter 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 6 rebounds and swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) who added 30 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Travis Gabbidon (201, college: UTSA) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Chris Kaba (203-88, college: N.Colorado) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Correcaminos (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Guerreros lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Correcaminos will face Gansos (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Guerreros will play against Huracanes (#10) in Tampico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
