The game in Aguascalientes was also quite interesting. 4th placed Fuerza Regia (3-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Panteras (4-1). Panteras managed to secure a 6-point victory 100-94 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fuerza Regia. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 54-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Panteras made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Fuerza Regia was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Lee Nailon (205-75, college: TCU) who scored 44 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Renaldo Major (201-82, college: Fresno St., agency: Edge Sports) produced 25 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Panteras and five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panteras moved-up to second place, which they share with Toros and Halc.Rojos. Loser Fuerza Regia dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Panteras will face Pioneros (#5) in Cancun in the next round. Fuerza Regia will play at home against the league's leader Halcones UV Xalapa.
