Bottom-ranked Gigantes (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to seventh ranked Huracanes (5-2) 90-77 on Saturday evening. Gigantes trailed 42-40 at halftime, rallying from a 32-15 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Huracanes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 36. The former international center Rodrigo Zamora (206-86, college: Montana St.) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American swingman Anthony Johnson (197-79, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Huracanes' coach Luis Lopez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British V.Islands-Vincentian center John Gardiner (203-83, college: Sam Houston St.) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and Michael Munoz added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Huracanes and five Gigantes players scored in double figures. Huracanes have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Gigantes still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Gansos. Huracanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
