Regular Season Round 2: Taby - Orongo 100-65

Very expected game when 12th ranked Orongo Dragons (1-2) were rolled over on the road by top-ranked Taby Basket (2-0) 100-65. The game without a history. Taby Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Taby Basket forced 21 Orongo Dragons turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Swingman Johan Westerlund (191-84) notched a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists to lead the effort and guard Yasin Merzoug (183-79) supported him with 24 points. Five Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Joakim Holmback (174-94) did not help to save the game for Orongo Dragons. Center Pontus Lennartsson (196-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taby Basket moved-up to second place in North, which they share with LF Future. Orongo Dragons at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Taby Basket's next round opponent will be Akropol (#4) in Spanga. Orongo Dragons will play at home against BG Lulea (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
