Regular Season Round 1: Asseco Prok. - Start Gdynia 76-60

Asseco Prokom used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Gdynia 76-60 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 47-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Asseco Prokom shot 64.1 percent from the field. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists for the winners and Australian center Julian Khazzouh (209-86) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and guard Michal Jankowski (192-87) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Asseco Prokom will face AZS Koszalin on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Start Gdynia will play against Trefl Sopot.
