The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Black Star (0-1) in Mersch on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Amicale (1-0) 84-66. The game was mostly controlled by Amicale. Black Star managed to win third quarter 23-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Black Star 46-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Lee Fisher (195-89, college: Chicago St.) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Terry Bryant (185-85, college: SE Louisiana) produced 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Billy McDaniel (201-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Amicale is looking forward to face Basket Esch at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Black Star will play against T71 in Dudelange and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
