We should mention about the upset which took place in Ciudad Victoria, where 8th ranked Correcaminos (5-4) lost at home to eleventh ranked Fuerza Regia (4-4) 88-95 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 44-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Regia dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 44. The best player for the winners was American center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) who recorded 25 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Fuerza Regia and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia maintains eleventh place with 4-4 record. Loser Correcaminos dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Fuerza Regia will face higher ranked Soles (#8) in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
