Regular Season Round 1: Sorgues - Quimper 90-96 OT

Sorgues (#15) forced the game against Quimper UJAP (#11) into an overtime, but lost by six points 90-96 on Saturday night. The game took place in Sorgues. But the guests from Quimper were better at the end. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 16-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-10. Strangely Sorgues outrebounded Quimper UJAP 48-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Four Quimper UJAP and five Sorgues players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP (1-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Sorgues still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Quimper UJAP will meet at home Chartres (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sorgues will play against Orchesien BC in Orchies.
