Regular Season Round 9: Panteras - Osos 102-71
Date: September 29, 2012
There was no surprise in Aguascalientes where 14th ranked Osos (1-8) were crushed by fourth ranked Panteras (7-2) 102-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Panteras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Panteras outrebounded Osos 44-33 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Lee Nailon (205-75, college: TCU) who scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Samuel Bowie (198-75, college: SE Louisiana) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Keith Gayden (202-83, college: Duquesne) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Panteras moved-up to third place, which they share with Halc.Rojos. Osos lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Panteras will face Halcones Rojos (#3) in Veracruz in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Osos will play against Gansos (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
