Regular Season Round 2: Denso Iris - Fujitsu RW 59-68

Very significant was Fujitsu RW's (#7) 68-59 road victory against bottom-ranked Denso Iris. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Denso Iris won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) supported her with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by international forward Arisa Fujiwara (175-87) did not help to save the game for Denso Iris. Forward Misaki Oonuma (175-90) added 8 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW (1-0) left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Denso Iris at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play again on the road against Fujitsu RW (#5) in Kawasaki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
